I just got this FACE Stockholm Matte Shadow in Stubborn (the cobalt blue) in my June Wantable Beauty Box last week. As soon as I saw it, I envisioned this look. I love wearing bright colors, especially in my hair, but sometimes bright blue eye shadow can be super intimidating. That's why I used it as a bottom lash line liner with neutral/copper liner and shadow. And I think it looks just marvelous!
Instead of listing everything I used, I thought I'd try to highlight the key products that really make this look. It wouldn't have made much difference if I used another foundation or a darker eyebrow powder.
For my eyelid, I used my Coastal Scents 252 Eye Shadow Palette...which I am in love with. I should really do a review on that one! The palette comes with 3 trays of shadows, and they aren't marked in any way shape or form. This is the tray that has purples, whites, pinks, peaches, and yellows. Shadow #2 (a shimmery champagne color) is what is on my lid from lash line to crease where it meets a matte nude I swept in my crease. Shadow #1 (a deep bronze) is layered on top of a black gel liner.
Ahhh, the culprit, the product that started this whole mess! I lined my bottom lash line with NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to give this beautiful blue a base. The creamy white pencil gives the shadow something to stick to and brightens up the color. Using a small angled liner brush, I then pressed FACE Stockholm Matte Shadow in Stubborn onto the white base.
I thought I'd play up the blue liner with some peachy coral on my lips. I just randomly grabbed the Stila Lip Glaze just to give my lips some gloss, and it turned out to be the perfect companion to my NYX Lipstick in Bliss. Isn't it funny how life works out sometimes?
And ta-da! Here is the finished look.
Would you wear it? What would you change?
Great look!!
