- Choosing THE style: Your wedding photos will be seen for years down the road so try to stray from current trends. The dress, accessories, make-up and hair style should be a timeless style. It shouldn't be obvious what year it is to avoid "what was i thinking?" regret. Trust me on this one! I found a link with awesome advice on picking the perfect style for you from Hair and Makeup By Steph's blog. http://bit.ly/11qFwSs
- The trial run-through: It is absolutely essential to have a trial run of your wedding style and possibly a few! You might want to think about having a run-through with a few different stylist so you can be sure your vision is created exactly the way you want. You'll want to bring photos of styles you like and of the dress if possible. This is the time to discuss your possibilities! Do you want to have hair adornments? Will it be up, down, half up, curls, braids, veil, tiara...talk about everything! And be honest. We are not mind readers! We know that it will be your day, and we want it to be exactly what you want. Don't be afraid to speak your mind. After each trial run, make note of the staying power. Did the curls stay? Did pins fall out? Also, take pictures from all angles to ensure you have found the perfect style!
- Two days prior to the big day: Consider getting a blow out at the salon two days before the big day. You'll have a fabulous style for the rehearsal dinner, and your texture will be perfect for the bridal style. If that isn't something you want to do, tip number 4 will be important to remember.
- THE BIG DAY!: Arrive to your appointment with dirty hair the day of! Usually it's best to have washed your hair 1.5 days prior as this allows the best manageability for styling and longevity of the style. Having to add the texture with extra product and/or needing a blow dry will cut into your appointment time causing the possibility of being late!
- Don't forget: Make sure you put hair spray and hair pins in your emergency kit! Maybe even a shine mist if your hair is on the dryer side. Accidents happen, and you'll want to be prepared.

5 Tips for Wedding Day Hair Styles
It's wedding season! As a hair stylist, I understand the stress that comes with weddings. Well, maybe not the WHOLE wedding but definitely the hair style. It's hard enough to try to convey what you have pictured in your mind, let alone worry about how it's going to turn out or if it will last all day. That's why I've decided to compile a few tips to help ensure your hair style looks how you want it. I've also scoured Pinterest (I know, it sounds awful, doesn't it? :)) to find my favorite bridal looks for some inspiration.
