June 2013 IPSY Glam Bag Review

For those of you who do not know what IPSY Glam Bag is, you are in for a real beauty treat! It's a popular beauty subscription box bag. For $10 a month you take a beauty quiz to figure out your beauty profile and they send personalized hair/skin care/cosmetic products right to your door. The Glam Bag always comes with a make up bag and 4-6 products, some times samples and some times full size products.

I really love these beauty subscription services for obvious reasons: MONEY! For a fraction of the cost I am getting new products. More than that though, they allow me to try brands of types of products that I probably wouldn't buy otherwise. It's a great way to see what all is out there and fall in love with something new.

I have been receiving the IPSY Glam Bag for over a year now, and this is the first month that it didn't arrive until after the 20th. So, my apologies for this being posted so late in the month!
That being said, this is probably one of my favorites yet! I was excited to try out every single product because not only are they totally me, but also colors I can wear. Not to mention that every product is full size.

Every month there is a theme and the make up bags coordinate with that theme. June's theme is "On The Wild Side" with a leopard print bag. I have had the privilege of testing out only three of the products. I will do thorough reviews on them as I used them more.

Let's jump in!

Cailyn Cosmetics Line-Fix Gel Eyeliner with Brush Built-In in Purple: If you have read my "DUD-alicious" review for Maybelline's Master Duo Eyeliner then you know that I am wanting a quality purple eyeliner. Obviously, I was really excited to see this one! It's a deep purple (hard to tell in my photo) that glides on really nice. Hidden in the lid of the eyeliner is an eyeliner brush. It is a decent brush, I didn't have any problems lining my eye using it. Usually, I am not a fan of included applicators. But this one is alright in my book! I love the color, I love that you can create a crisp line OR you can easily smudge it out for a smokey look. It is valued at $21.

J.Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette in Suzie: I LOVE GLITTER. There, I said it. So naturally, my eye got stuck on this palette right away. These colors are great colors for my pale skin and blue eyes. I remember having a similar palette from NYX in high school. It had similar colors, and it was a "glitter gel" palette. But if I remember correctly, I didn't use it very often because it would crease up. I have a feeling this product will do the same thing seeing as it's a similar texture. Maybe my make up skills have improved (Geez, I sure hope so!) and I can prevent that from happening. Or maybe these can be strictly bottom lash line liners? I will be sure to let you guys know! I will say that swatching these were a little tricky. I had to get a solid clump of the product and spread it very evenly to get it show up. Otherwise it just looked like sparse glitter. This one is only $4.49.

NYX Pressed Powder Blush in Spice: I am starting to fall in love with NYX. I baffles me that a drug store brand can have so many quality products! Spice is a really pretty matte mauvey color. I have been using this everyday since I got it. I was surprised to like this color, actually. I tend to like pinks and peaches, but this one is really pretty on me. I have to be careful though, a little bit really goes a long way. You can tell by my swatch that it is super pigmented! Other than that, I have no complaints. It retails for $5.

J.Cat Beauty Eye Lashes in UN13: Yet again, another product I love....FAKE EYELASHES! I told you this bag is probably my favorite yet. These eyelashes are perfect for me because they are more natural looking. Although I do love dramatic lashes, I just don't get to wear them much. I haven't worn them yet, I've been waiting for the perfect day. I think today is that day! They are super soft lashes and the band looks bendable. I will try them out and be sure to let you guys know what the final verdict is. They are $3.99.

Starlooks IPSY Featured Lip Liners in Tickle Me Pink: This is the only product I was not sure of. I don't typically wear lipstick so I don't really have the need for a lip liner. But this color is gorgeous! It looks as though Starlooks created these lip liners specifically for IPSY Glam Bags. On there website, they have IPSY kits that have the liners, lipstick and gloss in corresponding colors. Even thought lip liner is not my thing, I gave it a shot and applied it to my whole lip like I would a lip stick and then topped it off with some gloss. And guess what! I loved it! The color was beautiful and really pigmented, and it seemed to glide on with out any tugging. Another WIN! :) Tickle Me Pink retails for $12.

Like I said, this has been my favorite bag, yet!!! (Are you tired of hearing that?) I will use every product. It re-introduced me to lip liner and the glitter palette, opened my eyes to using a mauve blush, practically read my mind and replaced my DUD purple eyeliner AND saved me $36.48! July's bag has a lot to live up to. :)
